about me and my journey

Since young, I’ve always been a very curious child. I was always fascinated on how things are made, how things work. I used to love watching my grandfather make furniture by hand and my grandma knit sweaters for the whole family.

I enjoyed taking things apart and putting them back together.

I studied visual arts at York University and grew fascination by not just aesthetics but also the creation process.

On my working holiday visa at London, I discovered the world of product design. Philippe Starck, Charles Eames, Naoto Fukasawa, Bauhaus designs all inspired me for the next step.

My journey had led me to Hong Kong, where I studied to become a product designer.

As I understand how things are made, I was more intrigued by the experience and behaviour on the interaction between the user and product.

My graduating project was not limited to a standalone product, but also a system and implementation plan for the governement of Hong Kong addressing the outcome of banning indoor smoking abruptly in 2007.

I became a furniture designer: outdoor, upholstery to office contract furniture.

But i wanted to do more with design, not only to make beautiful objects or to lower manufacturing costs. These are important, but not world-changing.

Yearnings for solving real life problems, I wanted to offer solutions that can make the world a better place.

I learned about human centred design, evidence-based design and service design toolkit in my masters education and focused on health seeking journeys.

Projects in healthcare put the knowledge to practical use and look at complex problems in the world.

And here i am now, ready for the next step….

I want to work with like-minded individuals who have shared values and believe in possibilities of the future and are inspired in making an impact for a better world.
